All exhibitors shipping machinery and other materials by overseas containers should understand that a worldwide shortage of containers creates a potential for much higher handling and container retention costs. The demurrage on containers is significantly higher than in the past and starts much quicker. GES has modified its container receiving procedures to allow for some flexibility in accommodating an exhibitor's desire to avoid or mitigate these extra expenses.
GES will open the IWF Marshaling Yard on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 6:00 AM for container receiving. If exhibitor's either choose to have containers delivered early or have insufficient control over the delivery date, the Marshaling Yard will be available for container Marshaling until Monday, August 5, 2024 from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM daily for move-in. Please ensure that all containers have weight certificates.
For International Woodworking Fair 2024, GES will receive scheduled and confirmed direct to show site container shipments. To avail themselves of this service, exhibitors must confirm a scheduled arrival of a container(s) on their assigned freight arrival date . The confirmation must include the container number, the type of container, the weight of the shipment and the type of material handling equipment, to include special yolks, slings, etc., necessary for unloading. Confirmations must be completed not later than Monday, July 22, 2024. Containers must be on site prior to 8:00 AM of their assigned freight arrival day but not earlier than 5:00 PM. the previous day. The Marshaling Yard will be open from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM during move-in and move-out periods.
Confirmed Container shipments that miss their assigned freight arrival date may be charged a one hour minimum for any operators and equipment that were set up to receive the container. Container shipments that arrive unconfirmed will be processed in the IWF Marshaling Yard. GES will not be responsible for any added expense charged by the international broker or steamship line because any delays associate with the Marshaling process.
Exhibitors are responsible for removing their consigned or owned empty containers from the show site. Confirmed containers should be removed immediately once they have been unloaded. Exhibitors with containers in the Marshaling Yard have 24 hours to remove them from the property. GES will invoice exhibitors for storage and handling charges for failing to remove containers within this time period. This charge is in addition to any demurrage that may be charged by brokers or shipping companies.
