Electrics for Shell Scheme Stand

MAINS POWER SUPPLIES

Build-Up Power Supply
  • Any build-up power supply used is exclusively for stand construction purpose during the build-up and breakdown period only.
  • This can be ordered separately; only if it is required by the exhibitor and/or stand-builder (contractor).
  • Build-up power will only be provided when payment is received.
  • It is prohibited to share the build-up power supply with other exhibitors and/or stand contractors. Otherwise a surcharge will be imposed based on the current rate during said service is used.
  • Build-up power cannot be used for stand power tests nor for equipment/ machinery tests. A 30% will be charged based on the prevailing rate of the stand’s show power as testing fee or early energizing fee for exhibitors/ contractors who wish to turn on show power order during the build-up days
  • Unauthorised use of a build-up power without placing an order will automatically be charged to the exhibitor/ contractor.

Guidelines

  1. The distribution boards for build-up power will be in each of the 4 corners of the halls
  2. Each hall will have four distribution boards
  3. The contractor will connect their own equipment and cables to the distribution board
  4. Each distribution board will consist of single phase & three phase female commando or CEE Form sockets and 13 Amps plug tops
  5. For each order the contractor will be issued with a numbered socket
  6. All extension cables should be protected by a 13 Amps fuse
  7. For orders of more than 15 Amps single phase, the contractor needs to supply their own male CEE form socket
  8. There will be no other power source during build up, only the build- up power distribution boards will be live
  9. During the show days the build-up power distribution boards will be turned off

Show Power Supply

  • Exhibitors / Contractors are required to order mains power supply for the show days.
  • Show power supply will be activated and energised on the last day of the build-up, a day prior to the show,  with the approval of the venue’s electrical team and, in accordance with the health and safety rules and regulations.
  • An Energising Form must be completed and signed at our GES Helpdesk onsite during build-up to activate the stand power.
  • Mains power supply must be switched off every day at the end of every show, unless otherwise a 24-HR continuous power has been ordered. In the case the power has not been switched off, a surcharge of 30% based on the overall power consumption ordered will be imposed.
  • If mains power is required during the build-up for testing, a surcharge of 30% based on the show power supply ordered shall be applied.
  • Mains power supply does not come with a Distribution Board; it should be provided by the Exhibitor/Contractor or ordered through GES. Moreover, electrical installations are not covered by GES.
  • ELECTRICAL ORDER WILL NOT BE PROCESSED WITHOUT THE COMPLETED GRID PLAN.

Guidelines

  1. The rates quoted include consumption during show days. 
  2. Exhibition stands mains power will only be activated on the last day of build-up only after the energizing form has been completed. Energising forms will only be available onsite at our helpdesk.
  3. Stand contractors are required to be present to activate their mains power 1 hour before and 1 hour after the show opening times.

    Kindly ensure the appropriate power supply is correct base on the stand requirement prior to placing your order. Any requests or revisions for upgrade or downgrade of power supply will be subject to surcharges.

    Compressed Air
    1. Air compressors are not permitted in the exhibition halls and a hose will be provided from outside.
    2. Filters must be supplied by the exhibitor if 100% clean dry air is required.  The supplied air is approximately 4% humidity and 100ppm oil content. 
    3. The exhibitor must drain off the water each day as the supplied compressor is without a dryer.
    4. It is the responsibility of the stand contractor to connect the hose to the exhibit.
