Material Handling services when shipping to show site include:
  • Unloading of shipment(s) at the show site dock & delivery to your booth
  • Removal of containers labeled "empty" from booth to the storage area
  • Storage of empty containers during the event
  • Return of empty containers to booth after show close
  • Movement of outbound shipment(s) from your booth to the loading dock
  • Reload of shipment(s) from dock onto the transportation for the next city or your carrier (end of your tour)

  • Exhibitors shipping to the GES Advance Warehouse also receive these additional service benefits:
    • Storage for up to 30 days in the Advance Warehouse
    • Delivery of shipment(s) from the warehouse to show site
    • First-priority unloading status during move-in

      • Make sure to include all the required information to expediate the process: total weight of your shipment, numbers of pieces, weight of the largest pieces, size of the largest pieces and carrier.


      • Estimating Material Handling Charges
        Please prepay all shipping charges. GES Canada Ltd. cannot accept or be responsible for collect shipments. Crated and uncrated shipments must be separated and clearly identified on your bill of lading.

        All shipments must be accompanied by a Certified Weight Ticket. If no Certified Weight Ticket is available, GES will weigh your shipment(s) and special handling charges will apply. Special Handling rates will also apply to all loose, stacked and/or uncrated shipments.

      • Special Handling - Defined as shipments that are loaded by cubic space and/or packed in such a manner as to require special handling, such as ground loading, side door loading, constricted space loading, and designated piece loading or stacked shipments. Also included are mixed shipments and shipments without proper delivery receipts.
      • Late Surcharges - A surcharge may apply if advance freight is received after the published deadline date for shipments to arrive at the warehouse.
