Show Site Work Rules

Union Information

To assist you in planning your participation in your show, we are certain you will appreciate knowing in advance that union labor will be required for certain aspects of your exhibit handling.

Display and Exhibit Work Installation, Dismantling, and Decorating

Hanging of drapery and laying of carpet is the jurisdiction of the Official Service Provider. Full-time employees of the exhibiting company may set and dismantle their own exhibits without assistance from labor provided they are using bonafide, full-time, company employees. Any labor services that may be required beyond what your regular full-time employees can provide, must be provided by the Official Service Provider. Exhibitors are not allowed to bring in outside labor of any kind except for the above mentioned. Proof of full-time employment status may be required.
Exhibitors who wish to employ display houses or exhibit manufacturers to install or dismantle their booth may have supervision of labor sent in from their supplier. Workers of this type can not physically erect the booth. Please be sure to submit the required notification / authorization forms provided in this manual.
For services such as electrical, plumbing, telephone, cleaning, hanging signs, drapery, laying of carpet and drayage, no contractor other than the Official Service Provider will be approved.

Material Handling

The Official Service Provider will control access to the loading docks in order to provide a safe and orderly move-in and move-out. Unloading and reloading at the dock of any and all vehicles will be handled by GES.
Exhibitors may move their own materials into the exhibit facility provided they use their own bonafide, full-time employees and their own hand operated equipment to move exhibit material to and from their booths. Only full-time employees of the exhibiting company will be allowed to deliver items.
The use of pallet jacks (electric or hand operated), 4-wheeled carts, dollies, any motorized equipment or forklifts is not permitted. Equipment such as listed above may be operated by the Official Service Provider personnel only.

Safety

Standing on chairs, tables or other rental furniture is prohibited. This furniture is not engineered to support your standing weight. GES can not be responsible for injuries or falls caused by the improper use of rental furniture.

Gratuities

Our work rules prohibit the SOLICITATION OR ACCEPTANCE of tips in cash, product or gifts in kind by any employee (union or non-union). Our employees are paid appropriate wages denoting professional status, therefore tipping of any kind is not allowed.
