Labor Facts



Stagehand Labor

For Stagehand Labor only - the minimum charge head of department labor is (8) hours per worker and additional stage hand labor is (5) hours per worker and (1) hour per equipment.

All exhibit labor for 8:00 AM starting times will be dispatched to booth space. For all other starting times, please check in at the labor desk one half (1/2) hour before the time requested (confirm labor and forklifts by 2:30 PM the day before date requested). Any labor cancelled without a 24-hour notice will be charged at the minimum (8) hours for head of department and (5) hours for additional worker. If your show is targeted we recommend for you to schedule labor the day after your target date if possible. All rates are subject to change if necessitated by increased labor and material costs. The operation or use of all equipment is not permitted by exhibitors or their appointed contractors.

If an Exhibitor fails to use the labor at the time confirmed, the minimum (8) hour for head of department and (5) hour for additional worker "No-Show" charge, per worker, will apply.

Dismantle labor is charged at 50% of installation labor based on show close/move-out days/time (overtime rates may apply), and does not need to be scheduled.

Please note that gratuities in any form, including but not limited to, cash, gifts or payment for work not actually performed, are prohibited by GES. Electrical Labor, Floor Work (Under Carpet Electrical Distribution)

All exhibit labor for 8:00 AM starting times will be dispatched to booth space. For all other starting times, please check in at the labor desk one half (1/2) hour before the time requested (confirm labor and forklifts by 2:30 PM the day before date requested). Any labor cancelled without a 24-hour notice will be charged a one (1) hour cancellation fee per worker.
  • If your show is targeted, we recommend for you to schedule labor the day after your target date, if possible. All rates are subject to change if necessitated by increased labor and material costs. The operation or use of all equipment is not permitted by exhibitors or their appointed contractors.

Do you require Electrical or Plumbing?
Exhibitors requiring electrical or plumbing installation labor will automatically be charged a dismantle fee. Dismantle labor is charged at 50% of installation labor based on show close/move-out days/time (overtime rates may apply), and does not need to be scheduled. If electricians are required in the booth at a specific time for dismantle, please notify the GES Electrical Service Desk at the show.

Did you Know?
  • If floor work is to be installed with GES supervision, no service date and time is required. If floor work is to be installed with Exhibitor supervision, date and time is required and the date cannot be scheduled prior to assigned target date.
  • Every attempt will be made to install electrical and plumbing drops prior to your arrival as long as all information has been received
  • A 30% surcharge will be added to the labor rates above for GES professional supervision.

Did you Know?
  • Hook up Service Type is used for connections and hard-wiring of all 208 or higher voltage services, electrical motors or disconnects. Connection of total combined wattage within booth space exceeding 20 amps will require electrical labor.
  • Lighting Service Type is used for assembly and installation of all mechanically fastened static lighting when wattage exceeds 2000 watts and hard-wiring of all 208 or higher. Assembly, installation and dismantle of electrical headers and/or light boxes.
  • Miscellaneous Service Type is used for any electrical distribution and/or mechanical fastening to the exhibit or display of all electrical equipment, lighting fixtures, power tracks, etc.
  • For installation of monitors that are 37" or larger, 2 electricians are required.
Additional Information
Please provide a date and time of when company representative will be in the booth to supervise the electricians requested. GES does not accept will calls.
